Yippee !! Enjoying 3 solid days of offs . Hee ! And 1 & a half day (or days ??) of sheer peace 'coz da parents are in Genting AGAIN . :D Actually it was supposed to be 3 & a half days of peace but spent the first two days attending some course , so wasn't at home much . Really enjoy the feeling of having the whole house to myself . No one to mess things up , no one to nag natter nag and I can switch on the air-con as and when I want . Hahaha !! But these few days are kind of chilly leh , so I only switch on the air-con when I'm using Lappy . :p Am I having hypothyriodism or wat ? Or is the weather really chilly though itz sunny ?? Tell me pleaseeee tell me ...!! *throws self onto floor & kow-tows profusely* ;D Getting elderly already mah , so I'm starting to worry for my health . Starting to freak out at any signs and symptoms . *Haizzz* Anywayz , see , I'm such a homebody . I love staying at home to rot on my off days . ESPECIALLY when da parents are not in . I'm juz so lazy hor ? :p I should be a hermit & go live in some snug cave . But muz have T.V. & internet access lah . Ahahaha . Bummer !
Speaking of the course that I attended , it was a 3 days (30/01/2007 - 01/02/2007) HAZMAT Medical Operator Course held at S.G.H & Singapore Civil Defence Academy . Ermmm , I actually attended the S.G.H. part before some years back , so this time it's juz like a renewal of certification for me . But the Civil Defence Academy part was really an eye-opening experience . Really do not wish for any bioterrorism to befall Singapore or ANYWHERE in the world . And hope that HAZMAT operators , or ANYONE out there , will be careful & not cause any HAZMAT spills . Not that I'm afraid that I may have to go to the frontline to handle casualties , but the effects of these hazardous materials are realllly of no joke U know ?? How I know ? 'Coz we trainees were put through a gas chamber to experience the effects first hand !!! No kidding . And wat we went through was juz a very mini , tiny , nini , minute dose of tear gas or ammonia or chlorine or some sh*t lah . We were all geared up and juz sitting in the chamber for about 10 minutes , but towards the end , we were told to remove our precious masks and walk out of the chamber slowly . But that 3 seconds walk out and juz a single whiff of the icky chemical was enough to send me into a tearing & coughing & salivating & burning skin frenzy !! Eeew , I muz have looked awful !! :( Watz worse was I couldn't rub my eyes or touch my face at all !! All I could do was juz stand in the direction of the wind , bawl like a baby & pray hard that the effect gets lost soon . It was tat bad I'm telling U ! Really can't imagine what those victims in real , 'full dose' incidents went through . *shudders*
My fellow coursemates in the Chemical Agent suit (I was juz like them but couldn't possibly take a pic of myself wif those double-gloved hands) . Ya , I know it looks comfy but I can tell U itz not !!! It was hot & constrictive & we were in an air-con classroom , mind you .
Yup tatz me in the horrid but life-saving mask . A few of my coursemates (guys included) freaked out & had to remove it . It was very tight and it was really difficult to breathe properly in it . I myself nearly panicked and wanted to rip it off from my fat face but I told myself to calm down and breathe slowly , hence I'm still alive . Can U see tat tiny round hole at the bottom of the brown canister (as they call it) . Yup , thatz my only source of air . So if U wanna kill me , all U gotta do is juz tie me up and stick your thumb (haha , no pun intended) or some stopper into that hole and I'll be dead in about 4 minutes ? *shudders again* Really scary I tell U ! And after that day , I really gotta thank and salute all those brave guys & gals (in the various forces) who protect our country 24/7 . Thanx to them , we can all sleep peacefully at night . :D And to all out there , never take the stability & peace of your country for granted ya ? Anything can happen at anytime & anywhere & anyhow ... Hmmm , sounds familiar like some ad ? Ermmm , maybe not the anyhow part . WHATEVER lah !! U get what I mean can already lah . Anywayz , an overdue pic :
Happy family - Alvin , Eileen & baby Jerome , taken on baby Jerome's first month celebration on 13/01/2007 at NSRCC . Can't believe our feisty Eileen is now a mum . Ahahaha . :D Wow !! Nearing feeding time le . Gotta get ready to go feed my outside cats again . 4 of them . Hee !! Love cats , love cats , love CATS !! Wat ? Got problem issit ? Anyhoos , managed to snap a pic of one of them yesterday during feeding :
Presenting to U , Terry (as wat Helga named him) a.k.a. Broken Tail (as wat MY family calls him 'coz of his very twisted tail) . Although he has a very disagreeable face , he's really quite a sweet cat . Quite funny to look at him . :D He has very funny & slow-motion behaviours . Hard to explain lah . Juz gotta look at him to understand . Haha . Okayyy , before I go , I gotta confess . I've got a new crush ! *Shy* . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . A Fiat Doblo van !!! What were U thinking ???!! ;D Isn't it pwetty ?? One of my neighbours in the block has it in orange . Nice !! Mum & I can't help ogling at it whenever we see it . I think itz uber cool for a lady to drive this type of vans . Heh ! Especially after hitching a ride in Sherry's Renault Kangoo last month , *pweeeet* , super cool sia . Wun mind owning one of these cuties . In blue definitely !! Juz like the one above . So wat itz a van ? It's a cute and economical van wokays ?? Muz promise myself , if EVER 1 day I become an NM or NC , or if my basic salary hits $3.5 - $4 k , I'll definitely get a Fiat Doblo !! Besides treating Sammy , YX & MY to that $180 per person meal lah . I didn't forget wo , gals . :D Hope tat day really comes ya ? *Prayz hard*
