Wahaha !!! Finished 38 episodes of "Xiao Zhuang Epic" , FINALLY !! Nice show lah , damn draggy at times but nice lah . Beautiful costumes and scenery also . U must be surprised why I'm so 'chee-na' as to watch such shows instead of catching up with the latest K-dramas like what the crowd is doing . Well , dun worry , I'm not turning into some historian or 'or-bit' wannabe lah but rather , I happened to see one of my favourite Taiwanese actor in this series , hence the craze to follow up on the serial loh . Btw , if U're interested , U can catch this serial too , every Thursday & Friday , Channel 8 , 11 pm to 12 mn , weekly . Otherwise , U can always borrow the set of VCDs from me . Must treat it with care , though , 'coz I went through an arduous process just to obtain it . Haha . Ermm , not tat bad lah actually . ;D
*Swoons* Steve Ma Jing Tao is sooo... handsome !! Never fails to be . Yeah yeah , I know lotsa people out there dun like him , say his acting is exaggerating bla bla , but I still like him alot . Very man ! Wahaha !! :D And he ALWAYS look so good . No matter what character he portrays , the costumes just look damn good on him . AND , he never seem to have aged one bit from the first time I noticed him . Well , that's the advantage of male actors . They never seem to age !! Unfair ! :D

Anyway , the characters and story in brief :


Steve Ma as Prince Duo-er-gun . The 14th son of the first ruler of the Qing Dynasty . Supposed to have taken over the throne from his father but his idiotic-greedy-same father-different mother-'chee-ko-pek' elder brother , stole the title of emperor right under his nose . A capable man who's heart ruled over his head . But that was what ruined him at the end . Devoted to the love of his life till his last breathe . [*Sobs* Cried like mad . Touching mah . Where to find another man like that ??]

Ning Jing as Princess Da-yu-er . A beautiful Mongolian princess and the love of Prince Duo-er-gun's life . Sadly , she was forced (in a way lah) to marry his idiotic-greedy-same father-different mother-'chee-ko-pek' elder brother . *Haizz* All trouble started to brew from there loh . Eventually became Grand Empress Dowager Xiao Zhuang . [Very pretty but sometimes she just seem to have this deadpan look . Maybe the actress found it boring to act in this type of show ? Ha !]

Liu De Kai as Emperor Huang Tai Ji . The idiotic-greedy-same father-different mother-'chee-ko-pek' 4th elder brother of Prince Duo-er-gun . Also the root of all problems between Prince Duo-er-gun & Da-yu-er . Bloody b*stard who died eventually because of one of his beloved concubines . (The serial protrayed him to fall sick & became depressed after she died .) Muahaha !! Loser !! [Erm , I got nothing against the actor though , but juz that his character in this show pisses me off . Did a good job being a 'chee-ko-pek' . :D]

Hu Jing as Su-mo-er . The ever trustworthy , loyal & faithful maid of Da-yu-er . Stuck to the princess till they were old ladies . [Now , I wish I had a maid like that . Anyway , from what my stoopid brains could gather from the show , I think she fell in love with Prince Duo-er-gun as well .]

Wu Qian Qian as Zhe Zhe / Empress Xiao Duan . The steady & virtuous wife of the 'chee-ko-pek' Emperor Huang Tai Ji . Very calming lady but ermm , she was the one who introduced Da-yu-er to be the concubine of that lusty emperor . Anyway , can U believe it ? She's the aunty (as in true-blue blood ties aunty) of Da-yu-er . [Pfft ..! What was she thinking ?! Why don't she bring in her grandma or mum to be his concubine as well ?! Duh !]

Bai Qing Ling as Xiao-yu-er . The spoilt , annoying , spitfire wife of Prince Duo-er-gun . (Well , he was kindda force to marry her .) Always getting on his nerves with her jealousy of Da-yu-er as well as her evil mouth . Will cry in most of her scenes . Hung herself at the end when she realised that her husband has never and will never love her . [Gosh , how sad . Got the person but never got his heart , what could be worse ? *Haizz*]

He Sai Fei as Hai-lan-zhu . Elder sister (yes again , as in true-blue blood ties sister) of Da-yu-er . Became the 'chee-ko-pek's' concubine by sheer luck . Actually harmless and good-hearted , but after being fed with malicious gossips by other evil concubines & maids , became evil as well . Managed to redeem herself just before she died (due to depression after her baby Crown Prince son died) . Was also the latest affection of the 'chee-ko-pek' and guess what , HE died soon after she died . [Wahaha ! Dunno why but this character really reminds me of my second cat Mork , a.k.a. Ash . :D Very funny but I think it's 'coz of their shy shy character . Very similar . Like very self-condemning loh . Haha !]

Okayy , there are somemore characters lah but quite insignificant for me to focus on . But gotta admit that their characters definitely made the serial more interesting . Ha ! 2 off days well spent watching tis serial . :D Back to the reality of work again tomorrow . Pfft ..!

Anyway , this serial set me thinking 'coz it's based on real history (I mean some parts are fictional I guess but generally quite true one) . Can U imagine the tussle for a throne , power , attention & affection in the olden days ? Gosh ! I guess the words 'world peace' didn't even exist back then , so let alone now . Ha ! And can U imagine how pitiful the women were during those dynasty times (I mean those in the palace lah) ? Gotta share your husband with scores of other women . About 3000++ to be exact (they name it as 'Back Palace') . Duh !! Most grow old and die without the chance to see the emperor at all , and never regaining their freedom . I mean , how interesting can life be in the palace ?! No shopping , no movies , no T.V. , no Playstation , no cafes and restaurants , no friends !! My gawd ! Just like a bird in a cage and a fish in a tank .

Glad I'm born in the modern world . :D

Wheee ..! Happy 'coz of 2 things .
#1 - I got my Citrix password back !! Wahaha ! :D Was tossing and turning last night 'coz I couldn't believe that I actually forgot my damn password . Felt so loss when I couldn't log into the system to check for my patients' laboratory results . Tried and tried ALL the passwords under the sun and moon that I could possibly think of , but all came to naught . *Sobs* But luckily being morning shift today , I could call the ISD Helpdesk to reset my password for me . Whoopee ! Thanks to Jenny (hope I got the name correct) . Hee ! And guess what ? I decided to write down a whole bloody list of logins and passwords so that I'll never forget them again . Ya ya ! I know , U want my PIN number rite ? Pfffft ...! U'll be sorely disappointed 'coz there's no $ at all . Wahaha !! ;D
#2 - Sooo ..., getting back my password meant that I could trace investigation results again . :D Managed to trace mum's CT report . Wahaha !! Nothing serious . *PHEW* Been tippy-toed after her scan . ME I mean , not mum . Fearing the worst mah . Especially when I heard the word 'mass' , I really flipped . Thank sky , thank earth , thank rain , thank grass , whatever & whoever , thank U so much . :D Finally can breathe freely now . Must go pray pray at Kuan Yin Temple one day for the blessings . Anyway , mum's OGD was nothing that serious also . Controllable with medication . :D But *haizz* , her ear is giving her problems lately . But that one long term problem liao , no cure one . Not life threatening but rather destructive at times . Hiyoyo ... poor mum .

Okiee ..! Sad 'coz I realised the show "Eight Below" is kindda tragic . *Sobs* Really teared when I read the spoilers on the net . :( Very very touching . And the worst thing is that it's based on a true story . Really pains my heart . F*ck human beings !! Wanna go wat stoopid expedition , go lah , but NOT at the expense of innocent , lovable animals lah !! Blerghhh ..! Aiyoh ! I'll definitely NOT watch the show . Dun wanna come out of the theatre looking like some wreck . NEVER could stand reading or watching anything sad relating to animals . Xena-like me will still break down and sob like a sissy . True ! *Haizz* , especially the ending to the spoiler really broke my heart ...

"The last scene shows Jerry, Katie (whom we infer will now become Mrs. Jerry), Cooper, McLaren and the six surviving dogs driving back to the Italian station to fix the door to the garage, return the vehicle and head home. The final shot is of a cross with 2 collars on it to honor the 2 dogs that did not make it."

Whee ..! Oh well , nothing to do mah . Waiting for Miss Singapore Universe 2006 to start at
19 30hrs later . So meanwhile , blog loh .

Anyway , gotta pen this down . Remember I mentioned earlier this morning that I'll be going to the temple for Qing Ming ? Yep , I went and boy was it chaotic !! But it's expected lah . 'Coz today's Sunday and it's the 'middle' period of the festival . I tell ya , the columbarium was PACKED ! Wanna be a sardine for a day ? I recommend U to go there then . *Faints* Lucky I'm young and strong and tough , so can ta-han the whole process even though I was post night shift . But poor mum , being a little unwell lately , gotta wait outside 'coz she couldn't stand the stuffy insides . So everytime I located a relative , I sent my aunt out to bring her in . Wahaha !! Very strategic hor ? Anyway , all of us managed to 'visit' everyone , which is goody good . :D Heh ! Really thought that we won't be able to make it to some of them .

But I really gotta mention how bad the management of the place is . As it is , the aisles are already damn narrow , on top of that , the urns are literally stacked like cards from floor to ceiling !! And U actually gotta use a stoopid wheelable metal ladder to climb up to see your loved ones , should they be unfortunately placed on a higher floor . Bahh ! And even more unfortunate for us , we needed to get that damn ladder to pay our respects to 3 out of 5 of our relatives . Pffft ..! Not that we mind alot but can U believe the atrocity ? I seriously think that the management must have stashed away a whole load of ladders this year , leaving only a few pathetic ones out . Everyone was literally searching aisle after aisle just to get their hands on an idiotic ladder !! Some even had to like 'queue' for their turn . Erm .., me being a very law-abiding citizen was one of them . But some sneaks actually had the nerves to snitch it away from the other side . My goodness !! Don't these f*ckers know what it means by first come first serve ?? I patiently queued quite awhile for my turn so they should too . Luckily it was just some old ladies caught in these hideous acts , otherwise I'd probably scream ,"Dey !! Go f*ck off lah !!" Wahahaa !! Anyway , I nearly did . Thanks to this f*ckingly ugly and 'kiam pak' wannabe middle-aged man . Bahh ! Can't remember his f*cking face liao . Anyway this was briefly how our heated exchange of words went (in chinese lah , 'coz U can't expect this type of suckers to communicate in Singlish , let alone English . Muahaha !) :

F*cking Man : Miss ah , can borrow (the ladder) first or not ? Very fast one .
Me : Nope ! 'Coz I waited a long time for it .

Anyway I was STILL waiting for the previous user to finish using it . A.k.a. I should be the next user . Anywayz ...

F*cking Man : Tsk ! U pushing it to where ?! Aisle J there got already leh !
Me : No , I pushing this to Aisle K lah !

Pffft..! Trying to cheat by diverting me elsewhere ? Think I stoopid ah ? By then the previous user was done and I was beginning to wheel that damn ladder to my 'destination' . Unfortunately that f*cker was in my path . And as the human traffic was heavy and me being the all considerate being hence gave way to the 'pedestrians' first wat .

F*cking Man : Want to push , don't want to push . By the time U push finish , tomorrow already .
Me : Ya !! 'Coz I don't intend to knock people down wat !

Muahaha !! Afterwhich he angrily pulled the ladder pass the heavy human traffic & directed it nearer towards my 'destination' . Okayyy , so I gotta thank him for that I guess , but I shall not , since he was so f*cking rude ! Wahaha !! Anyway , on second thought , I don't think he was trying to be helpful lah . Probably he was hoping I'll be done with the stoopid ladder sooner so that HE can get his hands on it . Oh well , dream on ! :D And U know what , U stoopid f*cker ?! I hope one day after sh*tting , U realise there's no toilet paper !!

Wahaha !! Where did that come from ? Neah , juz cranky again 'coz post night shift mah . Hehehe ! So there U go , that was my Qing Ming 2006 story . Funny hor ? *Haizz* That's some callous and ugly locals for ya .

Okiee !! MSU Singapore 2006 starting liaoz . Rooting for the Occupational Therapist . Heh ! Same same industry mah . :p

Night Shift Again .....

Frequent nights eh ? Yeah yeah . Only like nights for the $ as I've mentioned umpteen times . *Haizz* But thankfully , night shifts over here are MUCH better than elsewhere , so I better be thankful . Pfffft ...!
Anyway , didn't really have a good sleep in the day (08/04/2006) 'coz the niece was here . Grrr ... Kindda like a pest . Yaaa , she's cute and all that lah but getting kindda spoilt and bratty . If I had my way , whenever she misbehaves , I'll gladly wring her up by her 2 bratty ears and give her some spankings she'll never ever forget . Muahaha !! :D Evil me . Oh well , never really have this affinity for children . Why is that ? Destined never to have any of my own maybe ? Oh well , throw me some cats then . Wahaha !! Serious ! Like what mum always says , "What are children for anyway ? Expect them to take care of you when you're old , ah ? Forget it lah ." Duhhh ..! No comments . Anyway , as I was saying , whenever the niece comes , there'll be NO peace in the house . She'll either be squealing her head off , or the grandparents will be busy conjuring up some circus acts to entertain her . Blerghh ..! Then my ears suffer . Especially Dad can never really hold a tune . Really regret tearing off my room door last time . Maybe I should seriously consider putting it back . Not only can I finally install an air-con in my room , but also , more importantly , block out all noise pollution and regaining my privacy . Wahaha !! Okie , let's hope we'll get a fat bonus this year . Getting excited ...
Met Vonne & Sushi on Friday (07/04/2006) after morning shift , for a yummy-licious facial at our usual joint . Ahhh ... This IS life ! As usual , I got the one and only Celine to 'repair' my ugly face . She's the BESTEST I tell U . :D Very very skillful and her massages , pwahhh , really can knock U out sia . If only I had the $ , I'd probably go there every week or 2 , and have the whole entire range of their products . Wahaha !! Now where is my sugar daddy ?
Anyway , after the facial , we zoomed off to Sizzler at Suntec City for dinner .


Really missed the food there . Erm , I mean I don't have much choice , now that Ponderosa cease to exist , Sizzler is the only place I can turn to for an American salad buffet . But the food at Sizzler is much better now lah . More variety . *Haizz* But I really miss the hot station in Ponderosa , where there's free flow of Garlic Bread , Onion Rings , Potato Wedges ... Okay , stop it ! I'm getting hungry ! Wahaha . Anyway , I had Fish & Fries (Battered Dory served with Tartare & Thai Chilli Sauce - $18.99) for my main course . YUM-MY ....! Dreaming of the next time I can go back there . :D Piggy me . *Sobs* Gorging myself silly this couple of months . Weighing scales are screaming in protest . Look like the sister of Shrek these days . Oh well , love me , love my fats . :D
*HAIZZZ* 4 more hours to go . Meeting mum , dad & aunt in the morning (09/04/2006) to go to Gong Meng Suar (Bright Hill Temple) at Sin Ming . Gotta visit Great Gandma , Grandpa , 2 Grandmas & Uncle for Qing Ming . Hee ! Gotta try and buy some Kopi-O & Coke to bring there and offer Grandpa & Uncle . Hope I make it there on time . Butt itchy went to tell mum to reach earlier . Juz hope my morning colleagues come on time . I have very low expectations of my colleagues one , no need to come early lah (I wouldn't even dream for that to happen) but at least kindly come on time .

Okie ..! I'm satisfied that Sammy's totally traumatised by the 'I Like to Move It " song . Muahaha !! Night shifts make me cranky , so my sincere apologies to all affected . Especially to Trina babe , wahaha , hope your ears are okie . :p Sorry sorry . As promised , I've changed the song back to something less irritating . Erm , but just as noisy . :D Love BEP's songs . So 'beaty' & 'dancy' . Makes me wanna get up and dance . Heh ! Not that I really can , but I can definitely fling my head around and flail my arms around stupidly like a dork . :D

Hope she's okay . *Prayz hard* I'm sincerely willing to give up half of my wretched life in exchange for the health and well-being of my loved ones and friends . I don't even deserve to exist at all lah . *Haizz* Just hope hope hope mum will be cleared off any illness . :(

She thinks that I've got lotsa potential to be groomed into some sort of ... erm ... I dunno , someone great ?! Nice words she used on me . Articulate , computer savvy , young , yadda yadda yadda ... , BUT , only lacking in an Advanced Diploma / Degree . Pffft ...! And she mentioned that she'd very much like to do 'something' for me this year but first , I gotta be more active in my organisation's activities . Blehhh ! These people are NEVER satisfied . *Haizz* Anyway , about the Advanced Diploma thingy , I told her I'll consider the offer for next year loh . Muahaha !! U know what ?! I say that every year . ;D I told that to Sister L. for 3 years , I told that to the bitch last year and I'm saying it again this year . Wahahaha !! When will I EVER do it ?! Gosh ! Anyway , I seriously dunno which course to take also . Pffft ...!
